Ronaldo, who is the top scorer in the Saudi Professional League with six goals, converted two penalties in the first half to give Al-Nassr a 2-0 lead.
Al-Shabab had a chance to reduce the deficit in the 52nd minute when they were awarded a penalty, but Ronaldo stepped aside and allowed Al-Gharib to take the kick.
Al-Gharib missed the opportunity, sending the ball wide of the post.
The match ended 4-0, with Al-Nassr’s other goals coming from Sadio Mane and Sultan Al-Ghamdi.
Ronaldo’s gesture was praised by some fans and experts, who said it showed his commitment to the team.
Others criticized him, saying he should have taken the penalty himself, especially as he was in good form.
